A pharaoh's nemes headdress cut down to cat scale — the striped lappets fall either side of the face, the crown is banded in gold with hieroglyph detail, and a cobra rears up at the brow.

Ear openings are cut into the sides so it sits down properly rather than perching. It photographs best from three-quarters on, where the cobra and the fall of the lappets both read.
